A quick 3D scan replaces putty impressions. X-rays may also be taken so we can see the full picture.

Custom treatment plan

Aligner fabrication

Your personalized set of trays is manufactured — this typically takes a few weeks.

Wearing your aligners

We check the fit of your first trays, then you switch to the next set every one to two weeks, wearing them about 20–22 hours a day.

Progress monitoring

Regular check-ins, in person or virtually, confirm that your teeth are tracking to plan.

Refinements if needed

If your teeth need extra fine-tuning, additional aligners may be ordered to finish the job properly.

Retention

When active treatment ends, a custom retainer helps hold your new smile in place.

Some treatment plans use small, tooth-coloured “attachments” bonded to certain teeth to help the trays grip and guide movement. They are barely noticeable and are removed when treatment finishes. Your dentist will explain if they apply to you.

There is no single number — and no one can give you an exact one before examining your teeth. Treatment can range from around six months for simpler cases to 12–24 months for more complex ones.

Clear aligners cost in Mississauga

The cost of clear aligners depends on how complex your case is and how long treatment takes. In the Mississauga area, treatment commonly ranges from about $3,000 for simpler cases to $8,000 or more for complex ones. Many private plans with an orthodontic benefit cover part of aligner treatment. The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) does not currently cover orthodontics, so aligners are usually paid for privately or through orthodontic insurance. Caring for your aligners

A few simple habits make a real difference to how smoothly treatment goes:

Wear them as instructed — usually about 20 to 22 hours a day
Take them out to eat and to drink anything other than water, then brush before putting them back in
Clean your trays daily with a soft brush and lukewarm (never hot) water
Keep brushing and flossing — healthy gums and teeth matter throughout treatment
Store them in their case whenever they are out, never wrapped in a napkin
Keep every check-in, and tell us early if a tray feels loose or cracks

What your visits look like

After the initial consultation and scan, most appointments are short check-ins: we confirm the fit, review your progress against the plan, hand you your next trays and answer any questions.

Retainers: keeping your new smile

Teeth have a natural tendency to drift back after orthodontic treatment, which is why retainers matter. At the end of your active treatment you will be given a custom retainer, and we will explain how long and how often to wear it.

If a retainer is ever lost or damaged, we also provide retainer replacement — so a small accident does not undo months of work.

I visited the clinic today. Initially, I was hesitant and rescheduled my appointment twice as the dental clinic I visited 2 years ago gave me serious sensitivity pain after cleanup which stayed for 2 weeks. What are clear aligners?

Are clear aligners the same as Invisalign?

Are clear aligners painful?

Most patients feel mild pressure or tightness for a few days each time they switch to a new tray. That is a sign the aligners are working and it usually settles quickly. Because there are no brackets or wires, there is nothing to rub against your cheeks or lips.

How long do clear aligners take?

It depends on your case. Simpler alignment concerns can take around six months, while more complex ones commonly take 12 to 24 months. Complexity, how consistently you wear the trays and your treatment goals all play a part, so we give you a personalized estimate after your scan.

How often do I need to wear clear aligners?

Most patients are asked to wear their aligners for about 20 to 22 hours a day, taking them out only to eat, drink anything other than water, and brush and floss. Wearing them less than directed can slow your progress.

Can I eat while wearing clear aligners?

No — take them out before you eat. Once you have finished, brush your teeth (or rinse thoroughly if you cannot brush) and put them back in. This is one of the big day-to-day differences from fixed braces, where you work around the brackets instead.

Can I drink coffee or tea with clear aligners in?

Plain water is fine with your aligners in. Coffee, tea, juice and other drinks can stain the trays and trap sugar against your teeth, so take them out first, then rinse or brush before putting them back.

Are clear aligners suitable for adults and teenagers?
