What the implant journey actually looks like
- Consultation and 3D imaging: we map bone height, width and the position of nerves and sinuses
- Treatment plan and written quote: every stage priced before anything begins
- Extraction or grafting if the site needs preparing first
- Implant placement: a short procedure under local anaesthetic, usually 45–90 minutes
- Healing (osseointegration): typically 3–6 months while bone fuses to the implant
- Abutment and final crown: impressions or a digital scan, then the custom crown is fitted

How much do dental implants cost in Mississauga in 2026?
Ranges reflect typical Ontario fees and vary with bone quality, grafting needs and the material chosen for the crown. Many private plans contribute to the crown portion even when the implant itself is excluded, and payment plans are available. The CDCP does not currently cover implant placement, but it may cover related extractions, X-rays and exams for eligible patients — we will tell you exactly where you stand.
Implant vs. bridge vs. denture — a straight comparison
A bridge is faster and cheaper up front, but it means shaping the two healthy teeth beside the gap and it does nothing to preserve the bone underneath. A partial denture is the least expensive option and is removable, which some patients dislike. An implant costs more initially and takes months, but it stands alone, protects the bone, and typically outlasts both alternatives. For a single missing back tooth in a healthy mouth, an implant is usually the best value over a fifteen-year horizon. For three or more adjacent missing teeth, an implant bridge or All-on-4 usually wins on cost per tooth.
Caring for your implant afterwards
Implants cannot decay, but the gum and bone around them can become inflamed — a condition called peri-implantitis, and the leading cause of late implant failure. Brushing twice daily, cleaning between the teeth, and keeping regular hygiene appointments are what protect your investment. If you grind your teeth, a night guard is strongly recommended to protect the crown.

How much does a single dental implant cost in Erin Mills, Mississauga?

Does getting an implant hurt?

How long does the whole implant process take?
Usually four to six months for a straightforward case: placement, then three to six months of healing while bone fuses to the implant, then the final crown. Grafting adds a few months.
Am I too old for dental implants?
There is no upper age limit. What matters is general health, bone volume and gum health, not your birth year. Many of our implant patients are in their sixties and seventies.
Are dental implants covered by insurance or the CDCP?
Most private plans exclude the implant post but may contribute toward the crown. The Canadian Dental Care Plan does not currently cover implant placement, though related exams, X-rays and extractions may be eligible.
How long do dental implants last?
With good hygiene and regular checkups, implants commonly last 20 years or more, and many last a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacing after 10 to 15 years.
What if I don’t have enough bone for an implant?
Bone grafting or a sinus lift can rebuild the site. We assess this with 3D imaging at the consultation and tell you up front whether grafting is needed and what it adds to the cost and timeline.
Can I have the implant and crown done at the same clinic?
Yes. We plan, place and restore implants in-house at our Eglinton Avenue West location, so you deal with the same team throughout.
